Korner Lounge is one of Louisiana's oldest LGBTQ+ owned and operated bars. It is a quaint little bar, nestled in the heart of downtown Shreveport. They are open 7 days a week and have plenty of fun going on all year long including drag shows on the 2nd and 4th Fridays, karaoke on Sundays, Bingo Night on Thursdays and my personal favorite, Trivia on Wednesday nights at 8pm. They also host multiple Pride events during Shreveport's Annual Pride month activities you won't want to miss. The atmosphere is friendly and not surprisingly their slogan is "Where Good Friends Meet". Central Station is a 2 story self proclaimed "Alternative Lifestyle Multi-Venue Bar and Night Club"! If you're looking to dance the night away to the tunes of a DJ, under flashing lights and disco balls, this is your spot! There are 2 bars and 2 dance floors downstairs seperated by glass doors because they offer their own individual vibes and play different music. Upstairs there is yet another bar that overlooks the 1st floor dance area. There is also an event room upstairs in the back with a stage and a bar (I've only personally seen it used twice). Central is well known throughout the Shreveport Bossier area as a fun place for everyone, not only LGBTQ+ but our friends and allies that want to dance or see a Drag show, know to go to Central Station on the weekends. During the week only the first bar is open on the first floor and you get more of a neighborhood bar feeling where they have Trivia, Bingo and Karaoke. Bear's For starters I'll stop you right here and say, it isn't named Bears for what you might be thinking, so calm down my Bear lovin fellas! It IS a bar that is frequented by a lot of us in the LGBTQ+ community, and they take part as one of the hosts of a Pride event during Shreveport's Annual Pride month activities. They do Karaoke, Trivia, Bingo, Comedy, and even the occasional Drag Show along with a myriad of other events on a weekly basis! There are two areas inside, the main bar room and an adjacent room with darts and pool tables. There is also a really nice large covered patio with tables. They are most widely known as a place to go for great live local music on most Friday and Saturday nights. The other stand out for Bear's is that they do serve food and people rave about it.
