Quiet Living in a Small Community Neighborhood Country Place subdivision in Haughton Louisiana is a small community with an HOA, and several amenities that we’ll discuss. There is one way in and one way out of country place and when you arrive you can see how nicely maintained and well manicured it and the entire neighborhood is. Location wise we are right off of 79 North US 80 East/East Texas. So we have easy access to i-220 less than two miles down the road; so we got pretty quick access to anywhere you want to go. As I mentioned before we drove over it is a fairly small subdivision; it’s quiet and a tight community. You’ll notice that we have a lot of mature trees. The subdivision itself was built in the 1970s early 70s like 1972 around there.
Most of the homes were built in the early 70s and in the early 80s there are a handful in in the back that were built in the 90s and those would be at the back of the subdivision in the northwest corner, but for the most part it’s fairly small and well developed, over 50 years ago with about 15 streets. And we have a homeowners association that does have a clubhouse that you can rent, and as you can see we do have a pond with a fountain and that does have some wildlife in it too. There’s also a playground and there’s a community pool. We have very well maintained streets, they’re nice and smooth we have a speed limit posted of 20 miles per hour, they expect residents to respect the speed limits here, and there are no sidewalks but you will see from time to time, it’s not uncommon if you are passing through in the neighborhood that you would see people walking their dog or walking with their family taking a stroll through the neighborhood. The Homes of Country Place Homes and Schools You’ll find that most of the homes in Country Place subdivision are a single story ranch style, not all, but for the most part that is the style for this subdivision. The smallest home to my knowledge is 1,300 square feet with the largest being a little over 4,000 square feet, so we do have a good bit of variety there as far as the size of the homes. As far as schools go for Country Place, we would be looking at T.L Rhodes, Platt, and Princeton. T.L. Rhodes (pre-k,- 1st) then they go to Platt (2nd and 3rd), then to Princeton (4th and 5th). Then for middle school that would be Haughton Middle school and they have a current above average school rating of 7 out of ten on greatschools.org. For high school that would be Haughton High with an average rating of 6 out of 10. Amenities Shopping and Dining Just outside the entrance and exit of Country Place subdivision you’ll have within two miles or less some amenities very close by. For grocery shopping, there’s Berkshire’s grocery. We have some fast food; there’s a Mcdonald’s down the street. A Church’s Chicken, Sonic Drive In and a Subway. If you like seafood there’s a Crawfish Palace down the road. If you like Chinese food you can stop by Imperial Express. There’s also a Johnny’s Pizza, Marco’s Pizza and Dominos, which who doesn’t love pizza and wants some nearby. In the opposite direction there’s an animal hospital. Just a hop skip and a jump down the road you have Louisiana Downs Casino and Race Track which is a popular destination for tourists and locals. Nicky’s Mexican Restaurant is also nearby. There’s a Waffle House and Silver Star Smokehouse. There is also an Urgent Care facility very close by. So as you can see there are a lot of amenities in close proximity to Country Place subdivision. So although you’re tucked away in a nice quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the highway and busy roads; there are no through streets here, this is entirely just an enclosed subdivision.
